Gray Caws

Gray discovered a passion for health and fitness in 2004. After a couple of years struggling with niggles and injuries when running, he read the Chi Running book by Danny Dreyer and has never looked back. In 2010 he attended a workshop with Danny. This encouraged him to train to become a Certified Chi Running Instructor.

In 2012 he qualified as a Personal Trainer, Master Kettlebell Coach and Chi Running Intructor. He then went on to study for Diploma in Exercise Referral and a Certificate in Specialist Exercise (Exercise for the Management of Lower Back Pain).

In 2014 he was appointed Master Instructor and Director of Chi Running UK & Ireland and is now responsible for the management and development of Chi Running across this region.

Looking to develop his knowledge and skill-set further, in 2016 he trained as an Oxygen Advantage Instructor with Patrick McKeown and became the first UK Certified Instructor, teaching a programme of breathing exercises that help to maximise oxygen carrying capacity and delivery for aerobic and anaerobic improvement.

Gray works with clients on a 1-2-1 basis and also holds regular Chi Running and Oxygen Advantage workshops in London, across the UK and Europe. He also trains new instructors in the Chi Running and Oxygen Advantage methods.

In April 2017 he visited Oman to deliver Chi Running Performance workshops incorporating the Oxygen Advantage technique. In June he traveled to the US to work with Danny Dreyer at a week-long Chi Running retreat in the Kripalu Yoga Centre, Massachusetts.

For continued professional development he sees a Personal Trainer weekly and keeps updated on current health, fitness and training developments. His current training includes kettlebells and body-weight strength training to compliment his marathon-maintenance running programme.

He has run marathons, half marathons, numerous 10ks and his first venture into ultras was the Royal Parks Ultra Marathon in 2014.
